In 1980 our school was given the right
to use the kowhaiwhai pattern that is seen on the school blazer, on the
sports uniforms and in the gymnasium. It depicts the mangopare, and is
symbolised by the double koru. This used to be emblazoned on the school
gold and brown jersey. We have kept it on our blazer and sports
uniforms.
Porirua College
introduced a new school uniform in partnership with Kia Kaha Clothing in
2006. All Year 9 students from 2008 are expected to purchase these
uniform items from the College. More information is in the enrolment
packs.
New school buildings:
the school is being completely rebuilt and new school buildings and a
new uniform contributes to the rebranding of the school.
We require all students to
wear the College/Kia Kaha black pants, skirt or ie lavalava. Plain black
shoes and the College shirt or white polar top must also be worn.
Students must then wear either the school blazer, and College/Kia
Kaha blue vest [the tie is optional] or the College/Kia Kaha
school jacket.
The school supplies all
uniform items except for shoes. An itemised information sheet is available
at the school office, or in the enrolment pack.
